The Rheingau is one of Germany's milder corners; the Taunus shelters the Rhine valley to the north and the river evens out the temperatures. Summers are warm, often around 25 °C, with long evenings above the vines. Autumn brings soft light and clear days for the harvest, while winter stays grey and cool, better suited to cellar and fireplace.
