The southern winter from May to November brings dry, milder days in the mid-20s and calmer conditions. Cyclone season runs from mid-November to mid-May, with the highest risk from January to March; those months are hot, humid and most likely to affect the east coast.

- December–March Hot and humid around 30 degrees; the main window for possible cyclones, especially on the east coast.
