Our Assessment

Why we recommend Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa.

A Maldives place for guests who seek reef, quiet and substance rather than staging.

We recommend Hadahaa when diving, snorkelling and a true sense of island matter more than the quickest journey there.

Climate & best time to travel

When it rewards you most.

Best time to travel January to April

The dry northeast monsoon from December to April brings calm seas, clear underwater visibility and steady sun. September to November is the wettest and windiest stretch and is best avoided if diving conditions and beach days matter most.

  • January–April Dry season with calm seas and daytime temperatures around 29 to 31 degrees; the clearest water and also peak season.
  • May–August Southwest monsoon with short, heavy showers and more wind; the surf season starts in May and rates are lower.
  • September–November Wettest and windiest phase, October often the rainiest; water stays warm but visibility varies.

Experiences

What you come here for.

  1. The 360-degree house reef

Hadahaa is encircled by a continuous house reef running roughly two kilometres around the island. You enter straight from the beach and snorkel over coral gardens with reef sharks, eagle rays and turtles, no boat needed.

  2. Diving the Huvadhoo Atoll

The on-site PADI centre Blue Journeys runs to around 40 dive sites in one of the deepest atolls in the Maldives. In season there are mantas and the occasional whale shark.

  3. Dhoni at sunset

A late-afternoon run on a traditional dhoni, often with spinner dolphins riding alongside before the sun drops over the atoll.

  4. Private sandbank picnic

Blue Journeys drops you on a remote sandbank in the atoll with a laid table and nobody else in sight.
