The dry northeast monsoon from December to April brings calm seas, clear underwater visibility and steady sun. September to November is the wettest and windiest stretch and is best avoided if diving conditions and beach days matter most.

- May–August Southwest monsoon with short, heavy showers and more wind; the surf season starts in May and rates are lower.
