The Aeolian Islands have a Mediterranean climate with a long warm season from May to October. July and August bring highs near 29C alongside full houses and a busy Vulcano. For a calmer rhythm, travel in early summer or early autumn, when the light is softer and ferries still run on a dependable schedule.
- May to June Mild 22 to 26C, islands in bloom and quiet trails on the crater. The sea is still cool in May and warms noticeably through June.
- July to August Peak season with highs near 29C and a warm sea around 26C. Heat on the Vulcano crater can be intense and the islands are well filled.
- September to October The sea stays swim-warm at 24 to 26C and the light turns clearer. First weather changes arrive from mid-September and ferry service thins towards October.

Ascent of the Gran Cratere
From the resort the path climbs to the main crater of Vulcano in about an hour, passing steaming fumaroles. The top opens a view across the whole archipelago to Lipari and Stromboli. Early morning is cooler and quieter.

Island hopping from Vulcano Porto
The nearby harbour links Vulcano in short hops to Lipari, Salina and Panarea. A private boat can be arranged for a day between the islands, with swim stops in sheltered coves. The resort assists with skipper and route.

Stromboli at nightfall
A late-afternoon boat heads to the active volcano island, whose lava flow on the Sciara del Fuoco only becomes visible after dark. The return runs under the stars across open water. Timing depends on weather and sea state.

Sulphur bathing and spa on the lava shore
Vulcano has long been known for its sulphur springs, and the in-house spa draws on this thermal tradition. After the crater climb come treatments and the rooftop whirlpool above the sea. The day ends without a long change of place.
