Best time to travel November to April on the Andaman coast
Phuket and Koh Lanta sit on the Andaman coast, which follows a clear rhythm. November to April is dry, with daytime values around 28 to 34 degrees and a calm sea. May to October brings the southwest monsoon, wettest between June and September. For snorkelling and boat trips, travel in the dry window; the rainy months are quieter and cheaper but come with uncertain sea conditions.
- November to February Driest and most comfortable stretch, with a calm sea, plenty of sun and daytime values around 28 to 32 degrees. Best conditions for the reefs around Koh Haa and the Similan Islands. Peak season, so busier.
- March to April Still dry, increasingly hot and humid ahead of the monsoon. Good for beach and water, with the Andaman Sea staying calm.
- May to October Southwest monsoon with rain and swell, heaviest from June to September. Some boat trips and dive sites are limited; in return, empty beaches and lower prices.

A day on the 900-metre private beach
